Origin of name Areti – Agios Filaretos

Areti is not a nickname or diminutive of these names, but it is associated with them due to its meaning.

2014: Areti arrived at the sanctuary middle of June. When a new donkey arrives we leave them to explore their new surroundings, meet the rest of the herd and just enjoy their new found freedom from ropes...and when they are ready we start to make them feel more comfortable.  Areti is a sweet little donkey that came to retire on our Sanctuary

The old hard leather head collar and nose chain come off, then a clipping and the heavy hot winter coat comes off After that her legs wounds are bathed and then worming...quite a day

Our sweet Areti arrived at the sanctuary middle of June 2014. When a new donkey arrives we leave them to explore their new surroundings, meet the rest of the herd and just enjoy their new found freedom from ropes and when they are ready we start to make them feel more comfortable.  Areti is a sweet little donkey that came to retire on our Sanctuary and is enjoying her newfound freedom
